Gullickson turned pro at age 16, and in 2003, was the youngest tennis player ever to represent the U.S. at the Pan Am Games in the Dominican Republic. She qualified for Wimbledon that same year. Now 20 years old, Gullickson is in her third full year on the Women’s Tennis Association tour. Gullickson concentrates on building explosive power by using the Plyo Press machine. She also relies on the Super Treadmill to build endurance and the Plyo Floor to improve lateral movement. Gullickson trains with Dan Hutchison at Ultimate Speed in Jupiter, Florida, a proud member of Athletic Republic.
“Coming into pre-season, I feel more prepared. I can really feel the difference in my quickness and speed.” Burch played college soccer first at the University of Evansville for three seasons before moving on to the University of Maryland’s NCAA-winning squad. He scored the game-winning goal in the championship against New Mexico. Joining Major League Soccer, Burch started with the Los Angeles Galaxy, was traded to the Columbus Crew and now plays for MLS power team DC United. Burch focuses on greater speed and improved foot skills through repeat incline runs on the Super Treadmill and wide-leg and single-leg drills on the Plyo Floor. He trains at Tekulve Acceleration in Cincinnati, Ohio, a proud member of Athletic Republic.
Moulson played at Cornell, training at their Lynah Rink facility. After college, he went first to the Pittsburgh Penguins, but was acquired as a free agent in 2006 by the Los Angeles Kings. He now plays left wing for the Manchester Monarchs. While at Cornell, Moulson trained on the Hockey Treadmill, utilizing fast twitch muscles to improve the explosiveness of his starts on the ice and up his speed.
“I worked hard, and Dan really pushed me to
my limits, but I can’t say I would have made it without the training.
Having someone there to push you and give you motivation is very
helpful . . . We’re a good match.” Dorsey credits former coach Dan O’Donnell of Athletic Republic partner Nutriformance Acceleration in Chesterfield, Missouri, with helping him hone his 40-yard sprint time. After three weeks of controlled workouts featuring the Super Treadmill, Dorsey went from a 4.59-second personal best to 4.38, good enough to attract the big teams.
Drafted by the Seattle Seahawks, Alexander has performed mightily for the team, becoming one of the highest paid running backs in the game. Stats for 2006 include 896 yards rushing on 252 attempts and seven rushing touchdowns in ten games. In December 2006 he broke Barry Sanders record for most consecutive games with a ten or more yard run. He trained with Tekulve Acceleration, pushing himself in repeat sprints on the Super Treadmill at 22 – 23 miles per hour. His goal was to make it look easy, because that makes defensive backs relax.
